Overview

TeaSpoon Cafe Juan Luna Branch stands out as a welcoming coffee shop nestled in the heart of Tondo, Manila. Situated at 5B & 6A Juan Luna St, this café offers more than just coffee—it’s a cozy haven where flavorful Filipino comfort food meets a laid-back atmosphere ideal for casual dining or catching up with friends.

The menu here presents an interesting mix of traditional and global flavors. Notable dishes like the Kare-Kareng Bagnet and Beef Caldereta Kare Kare Grilled Pork Belly showcase hearty Filipino classics with a modern twist. Their bagnet stays crisp even when not piping hot, highlighting thoughtful preparation, while the seasoning across their dishes strikes a fine balance between bold and comforting. Complementing these are crowd-pleasers like Double Cheese Cake, Strawberry Frappe, and refreshing fruit teas, although some drinks may lean more toward traditional tea flavors than sweet fruitiness.

The ambiance is a definite draw—spacious with warm, Instagram-worthy lighting and clean facilities. It creates an inviting space that encourages relaxation, whether you're looking for a quiet spot to read or a setting for lively conversations. Seating by the windows offers a cooler option, adding to the comfort during warmer days. The self-service system for water and condiments simplifies the experience, while attentive staff maintain cleanliness, contributing to the café’s pleasant vibe.

Service is generally efficient, though during busier times like holidays, the limited number of servers can lead to longer wait times. Guests have noted that the food experience can be inconsistent; some dishes, like the pepperoni pizza, tend to be on the thinner, simpler side, which may not satisfy bigger appetites. Meanwhile, certain orders like the BBQ burger and classic burger have received mixed feedback, from being overly sauced to occasionally burnt. Still, reliable favorites such as bacon fries and kare-kare keep patrons coming back.

TeaSpoon Cafe appeals to a broad audience—from local residents seeking familiar Filipino flavors to younger crowds who appreciate a comfortable, photogenic space for socializing. Its combination of affordable food, flavorful dishes, and relaxing setting make it a solid choice for daily meals or casual hangouts. However, potential visitors should be aware of some uneven service moments and keep an eye on the menu choices to ensure a satisfying visit.

In summary, TeaSpoon Cafe Juan Luna Branch offers a casual escape infused with Filipino culinary staples and a welcoming space designed for comfort and connection. With a touch of patience during peak hours, it promises a worthwhile experience anchored by its distinct flavors and inviting ambiance.

The place has a good ambiance, and it’s nice to be back for dinner after a while. However, I’d like to suggest that management consider adding more staff during holidays or special occasions to avoid long wait times. There were only 2–3 people serving all the customers, which led to delays — we waited 35 minutes for the pizza and fries, and another 20 minutes for our rice meals.

Teaspoon is a charming cafe with a spacious area and affordable food. You should definitely check out and try their menu not only does the food look good, but it also tastes delicious. I tried the kare-kare, which was really flavorful, and the bagnet was still a bit crispy even though it wasn’t served very hot. The seasoning was on point. The burger might look small, but it’s surprisingly filling. I ordered the BBQ burger, and it was so tasty the sauce was generous and flavorful. My friend didn’t like the pizza here btw though she found it basic. One thing I was a bit disappointed with was the blueberry drink. It looked like Nestea and tasted more bitter than blueberry. Since it’s a fruit tea, it does taste more like tea than juice, but at least it felt healthy. Overall, I’m satisfied. The place is relaxing, the ambiance is nice, and the restroom is clean. They also have kind staff to maintain the cleanliness of the cafe.

Ordered the pepperoni pizza and strawberry fruit tea. Pizza but pringles-like thin. My friend ordered lemon and beef caldereta (with rice). Food was average but fruit tea was excellent. Choose the seat near the windows for the cooler option. Water and condiments are self-service. Find the taped table number before ordering because the cashier will ask for it. Quick service though.

Ambiance is IG worthy, but some of the servers seem homophobic. Me and my partner clothes are decent, but I feel like I'm being judged by the servers aura. This is the first time I feel, compare to other coffee shops. Lol, masyadong relax servers niyo, can also hear them mag murahan sa ground floor. But food is great, thanks bye!

We've been here 5 times so far, mainly because of the ambiance. The warm lighting sets the perfect mood for relaxing or having a good chat. The food is hit or miss, but there are some reliable options. Their bacon fries are good, and the kare-kareng bagnet is definitely worth ordering. Don't skip their classic choco drink either. But heads up - our classic burger came burnt, and the BBQ burger was just okay. The 4-cheese pizza is pretty basic and quite thin, so if you're really hungry, you might want to order something extra. For what you pay, it's decent enough - mainly because the ambiance is so nice and comfortable. We'll keep coming back, but we'll stick to what we know is good here. It's a solid choice when you want a chill spot to catch up. Just know what to order and you'll have a good time.

This is a hidden gem in the middle of Tondo - without a doubt very much appreciated by the local younger generation. Parking is limited in front of the building off the main road - however as many people walk or use motorbikes this is not to bad. Inside is very spacious and ckean looking but the tables in some cases looks out of place with the rest of the seating. You need to order your food by presenting your table number and once paid for it is delivered to your table. The quality of the food is good but everything served was cold which was a let down - you should not need to inform them to warm the food. The quality of the meat was also good and better than more expensive restaurants. The price of the food was OK and about in keeping with the quality and location. On this occasion I did not get the chance to visit the washrooms so cannot comment. WOULD I RECOMMEND? - YES definitely five it a go - I understand there are n9w 4 branches in Manila WILL I RETURN? - Possibly if in the area or I see another branch.

Overall, the ambience is great for a family eat-together. The space and the high ceiling facade removes you from the congested environment outside. Food overall, is great also and highly recommend the red velvet and sinigang liempo.

In Manila, this is one of my favorite cafes. I adore how diverse their menu is. Pastries, rice meals, hamburgers, veggie salads, frappes, etc. are available. The cafe has two floors and can accommodate a sizable crowd. Although the store's exterior and interior designs are really attractive, I wish the air conditioning was colder.
